This isn't meant to start a fight; if I offended anyone, I apologize. It's just frustrating to spend money and not get what you hoped for.

Apologies all around! Didn't mean to offend Hangzhou locals.

Many tourists recommend roast chicken. Maybe give that a try?

The problem might be that some restaurants serve pre-made dishes from other regions, leading to disappointment with Hangzhou cuisine.

Quoting a netizen: 'Nowadays, when I find something truly delicious, I don’t post about it online. I’m afraid of making it too popular and ruining the place. So, the best spots are ones we quietly enjoy with friends.'

Even locals in Hangzhou admit there isn’t much great food here. Authentic places exist, but they're hard to find amidst all the over-hyped options.

If you liked Guangzhou, you'll notice how affordable and flavorful their street food is compared to Hangzhou.

People in Guangzhou sometimes feel superior about their food, but I found their large-scale BBQ stalls lacking in wok hei (stir-fry aroma) compared to Hangzhou's offerings.

Consider visiting nearby Jiaxing. It’s close to Hangzhou and has some excellent local specialties like stinky tofu and Zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).

Some chain restaurants from Guangzhou, like Dian Dou De, are available in Hangzhou. But beware—they may not taste as good here!
