    So Long, Guangdong! 👋 1

Wow, it's so hot that I feel like I'm melting on the spot! 🥵

Seriously, being in Guangdong (especially in Guangzhou), one feels like becoming a ‘roast suckling pig‘.

For those who might not be very familiar:

    • Located in southern China, Guangzhou is its provincial capital. When summer comes, this region becomes famous for its heat and humidity, akin to a sauna. Walking on the streets can feel like the air is sizzling!
    • As a "hard-working man" (a self-humorous term we use around here to describe hardworking people, don't take it to heart!), I really can't bear this weather at all.
    • I'm dying to pack up right now and head to another city to carry on my "spirit of labor" (just joking; mainly hoping to find a cooler place to catch a breath!)

    So:

    • #Goodbye Guangdong! Goodbye Guangzhou! I'm about to give you the slip!
    • #A departure on a whim is sometimes just how it goes.
    • #Changing a city means changing a mindset. The end of an old chapter also heralds a new beginning!

Here's a reminder for my friends planning to visit Guangdong/Guangzhou (highlights ahead!):

    • If you're thinking of coming in the summer:
      • Warning: High heat and humidity may leave you quite ill-at-ease, especially from midday to late afternoon when the sun is scorching.
      • What to do:
        • Absolutely, drink plenty of water; no, more water than you think you need!
        • Try avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours (such as noon to 3 pm).
        • Sunscreen, umbrella, sunglasses… the more protection, the better!
        • Air-conditioned indoor spaces are going to be your salvation!
