Alright, ladies and gentlemen, listen up! I just returned from a "adventure" in Shanghai, and let me tell you, I was quite unprepared for the trip, resulting in some difficult-to-describe experiences, riddled with missteps! 😣

    1. I spent a sleepless night (literally! working late into the night at the expense of my health) to compile a list of all the lessons learned, from the good to the bad, and even those that really frustrated me.

    2. My main goal is to give a heads-up to friends who are thinking about visiting Shanghai, especially foreign friends who might find it hard to adapt to urban life, transportation, or some other local quirks.

      • For instance, with a large city like Shanghai, how can you easily navigate the subway? Which must-visit stores may just be eye catchers and not worth your time? And will the food be too strange for you to enjoy? These are just a few of the things I'll explore.
    3. I hope that my "hard-won experience" can help you avoid similar pitfalls, making your trip smoother, more enjoyable!

Just wanted to come back and say thanks to the blogger for the share! It was great, no letdowns at all. My daughter and I went on New Year's Day. We'd booked a hotel in Huangpu District in advance. Right after getting off the high-speed train, we went to eat at Li Bai Crab 🦀️ on the Bund. The food was genuinely good – the crab roe noodles were delicious, and my little one loved the chewy, sticky desserts. After eating, we checked out Tianzifang. It has a strong artistic vibe but is very commercialized. Lastly, a tip for anyone planning a trip to Shanghai: try to avoid taking taxis in the city center. Not only are they expensive, but you'll also likely get stuck in traffic. I recommend taking the subway; Shanghai's 🚇 network is extensive and covers almost everywhere, making it super convenient to get around.

Do you need to queue for the crab roe noodles?

Excuse me, where would be a convenient area to book a hotel in Shanghai?

Actually, when traveling, it's best to book hotels near tourist attractions and close to a subway station.

If I dress in a very plain or unfashionable way, will people look down on me? I'm about to start an internship and I'm scared to death.

I don't think it's that 'chic' or super stylish here. Don't worry, just come on over confidently!
