Wukang Road, to be honest, wasn't quite what I had imagined.
- It's not a bustling commercial street with trendy shops.
- We visited during the summer, and the ladies on the street were dressed pretty normally, not as scantily clad as I had expected (if you're looking for that, you might want to adjust your expectations).
- There were lots of tourists, one group after another, all curious like me, wanting to see what makes this place so special.
- In the end, most people seemed to gather at the Wukang Building.
- Explanation for foreign friends: The Wukang Building is a famous old building in Shanghai that resembles a ship. Many people make the trip there just to take photos.
- After seeing the building and all the people, it felt like that was pretty much it; there wasn't much else to see or explore.

This has always just been a spot in the Wutong District for a leisurely stroll. What more were you expecting?

Well, duh. This place was never meant to be a tourist spot. It just inexplicably got popular because of out-of-towners.

The Wukang Building has always just been an ordinary building, you know? People actually live in there.

It's all just hype from those internet-famous shops, and it's become a real nuisance for the residents.
