Talking about the traffic in Hangzhou, it really defies description and can easily put anyone to tears!
-
Traffic Conditions, Oh My!
- To be honest, getting around within Hangzhou is quite inconvenient. I feel that most of my time was spent either walking or en route to a place on foot, leaving me close to exhausted.
️ A word of caution for those heading there:
- If you decide to visit Hangzhou, be prepared to do a lot of walking mentally and logistically.
- Alternatively, get a good grasp of the bus and subway routes priorly, or use taxi services (like "Didi Chuxing", akin to Uber or Grab internationally). Otherwise, merely navigating the streets and waiting for public transportation could be agonizing.
-
As for the Scenery... It's a mixed bag
- Frankly, the sceneries in Hangzhou did not astonish me as much as other people claimed. Maybe my expectations were too high? The actual sights seemed less impressive than what I've heard, resulting in a sense of disappointment.
-
Overall Impression: Far from ideal
- All in all, this Hangzhou visit left a rather unfavorable impression. The main contributors are the traffic situation and its underwhelming landmarks.

BUT! Huge applause goes to the locals!
- Despite the unsatisfying experience due to the city conditions, the kindness of local shop owners and Didi taxi drivers genuinely impressed and moved me.
- They were all very warm and patient, regardless of whether it's about asking for directions or just casual chatters. Their hospitality adds an uplifting touch to my trip.
