Surely no one goes to Shenzhen for *tourism*... right? 🫣 Well, guess who did! 🥹

Oh, as a "corporate drone" (which is how we refer to office workers here), I went to a city with a particularly strong "office vibe" – that's the feeling of every city being like one giant office, with a fast-paced and stressful atmosphere. What a twist of fate! It just had to rain on me too; absolutely unbelievable!
-
Big cities seem to be all the same:
- Either they have massive shopping malls or trendy streets (those places with lots of cute little shops and where people take photos to post online).
- These kinds of places are more suitable for wealthy individuals who like to indulge in luxury goods.
As an ordinary person like me, my aim was to relax during my holiday, so big mountains and beautiful landscapes suited me better. The beauty of nature always does more to soothe and unwind a person.
Travel Tips (To Avoid Pitfalls):
- Notice:
If you're just like me, wanting to find a place to completely unwind and shed off work-related stress:- Avoidance Strategy: Cities known for their bustling commercial scenes and fast-paced lifestyles (like Shenzhen in my case) may not be your best bet, especially if you find crowds unbearable or the desire to shop for luxury goods absent.
- Why? Because such metropolises are likely to give you a strong sense of that "Office Vibe," making you feel like you're still "at work." When it rains, it gets worse! If tranquility is what you want, focus instead on scenic natural landscapes or slower-paced places!

I'm flying on May 3rd and planning to visit Shenzhen Bay Park, Nanao First Beach, Akana La, and Judiaosha. Is Window of the World worth it? The tickets are so expensive.
-
Make sure to check the weather forecast.
-
The Minghua Ship was still under renovation when I went. My local friend was so annoyed! It looked nothing like the pictures online, haha.
-
Hahaha, same thing happened to me! Seriously, we finally find a good photo spot, and it's all fenced off. So frustrating.
-
The best part about being in Shenzhen is actually going to Hong Kong.
-
You're right, but Hong Kong isn't that great either.
-
Dapeng New District is nice, though. The sea is beautiful there.
-
I've been there. The bus ride is at least an hour, and during the Qingming Festival, it was super congested with traffic. Never again!
-
And then everyone just goes quiet, huh?
-
Hahahaha, so you got hit with a cloudy day too?
-
Ugh, and it was perfectly sunny yesterday!
-
So envious! And on a Monday, no less.
-
Honestly, if you're visiting Shenzhen from another coastal city, there's not much here that will impress you.
-
Well, it's fun if you're there for shopping, but unfortunately, I'm not exactly rolling in cash.
-
Excuse me, where is this place?
-
Shenzhen's Sea World Culture and Arts Center.
-
Shenzhen isn't exactly lacking in grand mountains and waters, is it?
-
Well, if you want to look at it that way, I guess that works too.
-
Shenzhen lacking water? What about the beaches at Xichong and Judiaosha? Aren't they nice?
