Alright, leave it to me! Here's the translation with a natural flow and well-preserved details and emotions from the original:

📍 Yanjing Xi Road (沿江西路 Yánjiāng Xī Lù)

    • This is one of the roads in Guangzhou that runs along the Pearl River, offering awesome night views.
    • I’ll tell you, I saw tonnes of gorgeous photos on popular social sharing apps about this route before setting out, prompting me to think: "I can't miss this place!" The night view is simply amazing!
    • But once I arrived at the location... Well, perhaps those photographs were heavily edited, or my expectations were sky-high. As a result, the real-life scenery was somewhat disappointing.
    • Nonetheless, overall, it was still pretty pleasant. Certainly not a letdown. Now, here's my genuine advice:
      • Coming exclusively for this road may seem like a slight waste.
      • You'd better mesh Yanjing Xi Road with other nearby attractions that are part of your itinerary to make the journey more worthwhile and rewarding.
      • 🚨 Super important reminder! 🚨
        • If your plan involves visiting a museum near Yanjing Xi Road, ensure you book your tickets via the official channel way ahead of time!
        • That was my error: I remembered this critical step just one day prior to departure only to find all the tickets already sold out! Truly, I had tears rolling down my cheeks yet! So, please, don’t repeat the same mistake!

Guangzhou locals have seen these buildings for decades and never really understood the appeal. We used to get teased for Guangzhou being old and outdated. Now, suddenly, they're internet-famous photo spots, with people finding all sorts of angles to shoot these old houses. We're pretty baffled too.

For decades, no locals would bother visiting these places. Now, thanks to Xiaohongshu, all sorts of people are flocking there to 'check in'.

Perhaps it's a great spot for portrait photography.

Is it mostly influencers and photography enthusiasts? I mean, what local would go out of their way just to visit there?

Locals often take a stroll there after dinner in the evening.

Welcome to Guangzhou! The old town is great for desserts and authentic dishes like white cut chicken. For beautiful scenery, Zhujiang New Town or the Panyu Wanbo area are usually recommended.

I should have asked for food recommendations before I went. For three days, it was pretty much just dim sum or cha chaan tengs.

Yeah, I searched for 'Guangzhou night views' on Xiaohongshu, and it popped up as a recommendation.

If you're just looking to take 'check-in' photos, there's a route starting from Shamian Island, then to the Customs House, Nanfang Building, Aiqun Hotel, Sacred Heart Cathedral, and the Star HUAN Plaza platform – takes about an hour or so.
