My Brain Just Fried...
-
I had a sudden urge to go out and play again!
- My destination this time was Shanghai, a huge modern city in China!
- I didn't pay too much attention to weather forecasts and ended up encountering three consecutive days of drizzling rain, with the sky remaining overcast throughout.
- As for accommodation expenses, they were simply outrageous!
- When I initially looked at a Motel 168 (a chain of budget hotels), the single room was surprisingly small, with only 7 square meters! Can you imagine?
- It was really scary to stay there; there was no choice but to spend a bit more money and upgrade to a quick-service hotel with 25 square meters.
- Daily expenses were also somewhat perplexing. Take KFC for example; a package may cost several dozen yuan extra than what it costs in other cities.
Travel tips (or rather moans!):
- Be cautious about accommodation: In big cities like Shanghai, when booking a hotel, especially economy hotels, it is extremely important to carefully review the room size! Otherwise, you may be really surprised. Seven square meters… Oh, the picture is too terrible to behold!
- What to do: Before booking, carefully check hotel photos and the description of the room area in square meters.
- Expect higher prices: Even if international fast food chains are involved, they may be more expensive in Shanghai. So, when budgeting, it should be somewhat relaxed.
- What to do: Try more local snacks or purchase some food at supermarkets; they are relatively cheaper.
- Weather forecasts are invaluable: Shanghai's weather has its own character. Proper planning before departure by checking the weather forecast, and bringing appropriate clothing and rain protection will certainly improve travel experience.
- What to do: Check weather apps several days before heading out as well as on the morning of the day you leave. It’s best to always carry an umbrella or a light raincoat with you.
However, beyond these small hiccups, Shanghai is still an amazing place to explore! Worth a visit!
Overall, this impromptu travel had both good and bad points. But it was still great fun to have such an impulse, which allowed me to see a different place and experience different lives.#ShanghaiTravel #Shanghaicitywalk #travelExperience

I used to love traveling so much, but now, domestic travel just feels the same everywhere. I can't afford to go abroad either. Cities are just the same skyscrapers, and if you're not shopping, wandering around aimlessly isn't much fun. Ancient towns are all commercialized now; they've lost their charm. After a while, all the scenic mountains and rivers start to look the same. Plus, it's always so crowded, which really ruins half the experience. The only reason to travel now is just to get away from work.

While you're young, really go out and experience life.

When I arrived in Shanghai, it was raining and already evening. But I was so set on seeing the Oriental Pearl Tower that I went anyway – and the view was a complete disaster. However, I was so determined that I insisted on staying until a sunny day so I could see the whole Oriental Pearl Tower properly before I left.
-
It looks great at night.
-
I've gradually started to dislike traveling; every city feels the same.
-
Travel more while you're young; if not now, then when?
-
I thought KFC prices were the same everywhere in the country.

Exactly! The weather was especially good when I left on Sunday.
-
I had a one-day layover in Shanghai, so I went for a quick look around.
-
Wow, that's great! Effortless sightseeing.
-
The sun's out now, hurry and come see the tulips
!

Where is this?
-
Aren't KFC prices standardized nationwide, except at places like airports and train stations?
-
Hehe, the delivery fee.
-
What? I always thought chain stores like that had the same prices everywhere.
