Shenzhen is great for long-term living, but not so much for short trips. When you live here, there are free concerts and art exhibitions every week, frequent free public training sessions, and occasionally you can even win free experiences like indoor skydiving or archery – it's awesome! For those with kids, there are tons of beautiful and fun free outdoor playgrounds and stream-trekking spots.

It's quite nice if you know where to go.

I'm from Shenzhen and go to university in Beijing. Beijing is fun for tourists, but the living environment is poor and inconvenient. Shenzhen is the opposite – not great for tourism, but life is vibrant, transportation is convenient, and the cost of living is relatively low.

The night view from Nanshan Mountain is also pretty good.

The sea views over at Dapeng in Shenzhen are beautiful.

It has decent sea views, cityscapes, and mountain scenery. It's true that it lacks historical architecture, but it's not as bad as some make it out to be.

There's really no need to jump on the bandwagon and criticize it.

I've been to beaches all over the country, but the sea at Xichong in Shenzhen is really clear and the sand is very fine. It's well worth a visit.

Shenzhen is often called a 'cultural desert,' and looking at the 'concrete jungle' downtown isn't very exciting. However, the Dapeng Peninsula, being one of China's most beautiful coastlines, is definitely worth seeing...

Where exactly in Dapeng is this?
