Haha, to be honest, even when I'm in Changsha, I usually head home on time. So, I'm not too familiar with what Changsha is like after midnight either.

As a local, I honestly don't know what's so fun about Beijing.

Perhaps it's because the weather is quite cold, limiting outdoor activities. I'm really at a loss for what to do for fun.

I'm torn about whether to go to Shanghai for the May Day holiday. It's quite a long trip, it'll be crowded, and it'll cost a fair bit too.

Did you end up going? How was it?

How many days did you stay there?

I also arrived in Beijing on the 30th. We had to queue for all the attractions, so it felt like a really rushed visit. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the Qing Dynasty aesthetic.

What kind of feeling is it? It's really hard to describe... It's the kind of place that doesn't let you relax, it feels too solemn, and there's a sense of historical weight, almost oppressive...

Well, perhaps you don't know much about Chinese history. Besides, many of the things we locals enjoy are off the beaten path for tourists.

'Not very familiar with Chinese history?' How much understanding does one need to be considered 'familiar'? I doubt even experts and professors would dare claim they truly 'understand' history.

I went during the Qingming Festival, and the sky in Beijing was beautifully blue. The breakfast at Ziguangyuan was pretty good, but as for the rest... it's hard to say. Visiting once was enough; I don't plan on going back to endure it all again.
