When you're out and about in Shenzhen, definitely use apps like Douyin, Dianping, and Meituan. Check out each place on them before you go in – you'll save a lot! For getting around, the subway is your best bet and won't break the bank. If you absolutely need a car, opt for a ride-sharing service; it's way cheaper than a regular taxi. Also, keep in mind Shenzhen is a long, stretched-out city. It's best to plan your activities within one district per day, or you'll feel like you're spending all your time just traveling. Before you visit, do your homework! Figure out which districts your must-see spots are in, and find a centrally located place to stay. This will save you a ton of time and money on transportation.

I cancelled my hotel in Bao'an District and rebooked in Futian. Now, most places are within a 40-minute subway ride, and many are just 20 minutes away! Even the furthest spot, Dameisha Beach Park, is only about an hour. Definitely the right call!

Hey sis, next time you visit, try staying in Futian or Luohu, or Nanshan if those don't work out. Bao'an is just too far from most attractions! Also, things in Shenzhen are generally quite expensive. Luohu might be a bit cheaper, but overall, it's pricey everywhere. It's not like they're specifically overcharging tourists; it's just an expensive city.

Yep, got it. Definitely not staying in Bao'an next time!

Forget Bao'an; even from Futian or Nanshan, people don't often trek out to Dapeng. It's really far, and public transport isn't great. Plus, if you drive on holidays, you're guaranteed to hit massive traffic. Next time, pick your accommodation based on the main areas you want to explore. Around the Shenzhen Airport, besides Xixiang Mangrove Forest, OH Bay, and Tiezaishan Park, there isn't much else to see.

Actually, staying in Futian is a good idea. It makes it really convenient to get to places like Shenzhen Bay Park, Qianhai Bay Park, Dapeng Peninsula, and Judiaosha.

Can you recommend a place? Which spot do you think is the most worth visiting?

Shenzhen is a long, narrow city that stretches from east to west. Bao'an, where you stayed, is pretty much on the far western end, while those beaches are mostly on the far eastern side, making it quite a distance. Next time, take a look at a map and try to find accommodation somewhere more central.

Hahahaha, Judiaosha was already stunning, so I didn't venture any further that way.

Hey sis, I went to the observatory today. Is it still worth making a six-hour round trip just for Judiaosha?

Last time we took a taxi from Judiaosha to the observatory, it only took about half an hour when there was no traffic. Sis, maybe check out the taxi options? The bus really does take a long time.

Can you visit Judiaosha directly even if you're not staying at one of the hotels there?

Hahahaha, four days and four nights. Including flights and hotel, it all came to around 2500 RMB.
